Is following expansion/contraction sequence during a match considered valid?

  1. Robot expands horizontally along X-axis such that robot satisfies dimensions of 732315
  2. Robot contracts the x-axis expansion
  3. Now robot expands horizontally along Y-axis such that robot satisfies dimensions of 237315

Basically can robot expand along 2 horizontal dimensions separately during a match such that each expansion is limitted to one dimension only at a time?

The expansion/contraction sequence you have described is legal. As long as the robot size never exceeds 23"x73"x15" or 73"x23"x15", then the robot is not in violation of <SG2>. The x and y values are effectively interchangeable if at every point in the Match the Robot could fit inside a hypothetical sizing box.
