I understand the clarification to G8 regarding local health guidelines, and the desire to avoid teams choosing one driver for strategic reasons, but is there any leeway given due to personal risk assessment/caution over Covid?
If I have a team of 3 that has competed together with 2 drivers locally during the season, but only one of the team members is willing to risk interstate travel to Dallas and the large crowd at Worlds (due to the other drivers and their families having health concerns about Covid or pre-existing conditions) is that sufficient grounds to compete at Worlds (in the Open Division) with only one driver? It's not specifically due to local health guidelines mandating distancing, but still due to the pandemic, causing the other drivers on the team to choose not to go*. The one driver who would attend might exhibit the behaviors in the blue box that are specified as a trigger for the RECF staff to ask about the relevant guidelines, but would have no guidelines to point to, only their teammates' caution/concern.
(*To be clear, I don't want to cast any blame here, based on anyone's personal health choices. We all are navigating the pandemic with our best intentions and trying to make sense of all the conflicting information we get, and everyone has to choose for themselves and their family what risks they are comfortable with.)
Would this be allowed or not?
