Red violates <SG6> while introducing three match loads, and as a direct result of this, they scored 15 extra points.
Blue also violated <SG6> once, and as a direct result scored 5 points.
Currently, we take the difference between the two alliances. Red gained 15 points, and blue gained 5, so the net benefit is 15-5=10 points scored by Red. Is it correct to use this new number as the 'match affecting total', or should we use 15 points for Red and 5 points for blue separately?
Could you clarify whether it is a major or minor violation for each team in the following cases:
- Red win by 2 points
- Red win by 14 points
- Blue win by 3 points
How should the rulings change when blue has a certain number of match affecting points, and red is given a major violation for repeated minor violations of the same rule?
Should the decision be the same in qualification and elimination matches?

Only the winner's points matter for Match Affecting calculations. Depending on which Alliance won the Match, one number or the other shouldn't be considered at all. For example, if red wins the Match, any points that were or weren't scored by blue with illegal Match Loads should be completely disregarded when doing Match Affecting calculations. This system is designed to be easy for Head Referees to implement and calculate quickly during an event.
For scenarios 1-3: 1 & 2: The red Robot should receive a Major Violation and DQ for the Match if the Head Referee determined that they scored 15 additional points as part of the Violations. 3: The blue Robot should receive a Major Violation and DQ for the Match if the Head Referee determined that they scored 5 additional points as part of the Violations.
How should the rulings change when blue has a certain number of match affecting points, and red is given a major violation for repeated minor violations of the same rule? Should the decision be the same in qualification and elimination matches?
If blue wins the Match with Match Affecting Violations, the offending blue Robot should receive a DQ for the Match; If a red Robot also earns a Major Violation through repeated Minor Violations, they should also receive a DQ for the Match. The only change to this guidance for Elimination Matches is that an entire Alliance will receive any DQ instead of a single Robot, as described in rule T8.
