Rules <S1> and <S2> still apply to this interaction; there should be no reason for a Robot to extend outside of the field perimeter during this action.

There appears to be a typo in the Note section of <SG6>. Is <S2> the intended rule that is meant to be referenced?

You are correct, and this will be fixed in the next Game Manual update.
