State Championships Colored String Matching Alliance

Bryan English (Event Partner)
4-Feb-2023

<R7>

As a State Championship Event Partner, can I require teams using legal string for expansion in the end game, to have to match their alliance color?

This would greatly assist us in scoring and allow us to play more matches. This would be accomplished by allowing lower match cycle times, so all students could have more chances to play.

Thank you, Bryan English Northern New York State Event Partner

No. It is the responsibility of all Event Partners and Head Referees to ensure a consistent experience for all Teams by enforcing the rules of the game as written in the Game Manual.

Per the red box below rule <R7>, Teams are encouraged to use either Alliance-colored string or highly visible string that is marked periodically with their current Alliance color. They are not required to so do, but by choosing not to they are opening the possibility that Covered tiles may be missed or incorrectly scored.
