1123: <R6a> VEX IQ Tank Tread and Flaps

GOTEM
7-Jun-2022

<R6a> states

Products from the VEXpro, VEX EXP, VEX IQ, VEX GO, VEX 123, or VEX Robotics by HEXBUG product lines cannot be used for Robot construction, unless specifically allowed by a clause of <R7> or “cross-listed” as part of the VEX V5 Product lines. For example, the Shaft Base Pack (228-3506) is a VEX IQ component that can be found on the VEX “Drive Shafts” page, and is thus legal: https://www.vexrobotics.com/drive-shafts.html.

The VEX store page for the 6P sprockets, which are listed under V5, includes the “Chain Add-on Pack” which is a cross-listing for the VEX IQ chain.

Is it the GDC’s intention to legalize the rest of the available VEX IQ chain accessories, such as the tank tread and intake flaps, to fit these sprockets as well, or just the “normal” chain itself?

Thank you for your time.

Answered by committee

Is it the GDC’s intention to legalize the rest of the available VEX IQ chain accessories, such as the tank tread and intake flaps, to fit these sprockets as well, or just the “normal” chain itself?

As stated in R6 and quoted in this question, the only VEX IQ products which are intended to be legal in VRC are those which are "cross-listed" and stated as such on their product website.

The page linked in this question only "cross-lists" the 228-4983 Chain Add-On Pack; therefore, this is the only SKU which is intended to be legal.
