886: Autonomous WIn Point AWP - Cleared Goal clarification

18-Oct-2021

Hello in Version 2.1, Page 14, of the Game Manual we find this definitions:

Cleared - An Alliance Mobile Goal state. An Alliance Mobile Goal is considered “Cleared” if, at the end of the Autonomous Period, it is not contacting its AWP Line or the Neutral Zone See the Scoring Section for more details.

At other locations within the manual I find similar, but not exact wording

Page 7 - Game Description

An Autonomous Win Point is awarded to any Alliance that has Cleared their AWP Line and Scored at least one Ring on each Alliance Mobile Goal at the end of the Autonomous Period.

Page 20 - Table 3

An Autonomous Win Point is awarded to any Alliance that has Cleared their AWP Line, and Scored at least one Ring on or in each Alliance Mobile Goal, at the end of the Autonomous Period.

In defining the Alliance Home Zone,Scoring Notes, Page 23, Item 3 has a good illustration to help clarify what constitutes a mobile goal being defined as in the Home Zone. Additionally, on Page 16, Neutral Zone, we find this text:

The Neutral Zone is bounded by the inner edges of the playing field walls, and the single tape lines which run the length of the field.

For clarification, would the Alliance Mobile Goal, pushed into the neutral zone, still be considered "Cleared" for the sake of the Autonomous Win Point? img

Thank you for quoting the relevant rules and definitions in your question.

For clarification, would the Alliance Mobile Goal, pushed into the neutral zone, still be considered "Cleared" for the sake of the Autonomous Win Point?

No.

The full definition of Cleared, as quoted, includes the requirement that the Alliance Mobile Goal is not contacting the Neutral Zone. The phrase "Cleared the AWP Line" as used on pages 7 and 20 is meant colloquially.
