If an alliance goal falls out of the field, some of the rings stay on the pole or in the base, and it occurs during the last thirty seconds of the match when scoring objects are not returned to the field, would those rings still count for points?
In this hypothetical scenario, the two main questions are: -Do the rings get removed the moment it falls out of the field -Do the rings count as points if the goal is not inside the field
For the first question:
According to <SG9>, scoring objects will be returned to the field in a non-scored state, and scoring objects will not be returned during the last 30 seconds. Additionally, in LRT matches scoring objects will not be returned to the field regardless of how much time is remaining.
<SG9> doesn't specify the state of the scoring objects while outside of the field, just that when being returned that the rings are set down separately. It doesn't confirm that the rings would be left on if its during the last 30 seconds, but it doesn't say they wouldn't.
For the second question:
In the Scoring Notes, it specifies that "Rings which are Scored on/in an Alliance Mobile Goal are worth points for that color Alliance, regardless of where the Alliance Mobile Goal ends the Match"
This would suggest that if the rings were left on the goal, that they would count for points.
Ultimately, having these rings count for points would not benefit anyone strategically, as <SG9> also states that Scoring Objects cannot be intentionally removed from the field, but with robots regularly climbing the platform while holding mobile goals, this scenario may not be too rare and it could be match affecting.
