1044: Remote Partner Cables

James Jobe (Event Partner)
7-Feb-2022

Must teams only use a V5 Smart Cable to connect two remote controls or may they use the Coiled Handset Cable 276-1602? It is understood that a team would have to replace one end with a V5 Smart Cable Connector to make the Coiled Handset Cable function. Similar to scuff controllers, this would not modify the electronics in any way.

Answered by committee

No, this would not be permitted. Modifying the Coiled Handset Cable in this way would be considered modification of an electronic component, in violation of R21.
