482: Using flags to clarify the status of a stack

Matthew LeBlanc (Event Partner)
10-Jan-2020

Hello,

During matches robots in the unprotected zone are subject to agressive defense while attempting to stack their towers. However once the towers become stacked that defense cannot cause the tower to become descored. Am I allowed to provide my referees with small flags to indicate when they have determined that the tower is stacked?

Thank you.

There are no rules or event support materials prohibiting this. However, we would likely advise against it. This is not a standardized Head Referee responsibility, so not only are there no support materials to provide overarching best practices, Teams who come to rely on it at one event may pressure unprepared Head Referees at another event to implement it.

This practice will not be used at VEX Worlds.
