Event Description
California State University, Northridge, College of Engineering and Computer Science and The Small Manufacturers' Institute are pleased to announce the inaugural California VEX Collegiate Championship. The event will be held at CSUN on Saturday, April 2, 2011. The competition is based on the 2010-2011 VEX Round Up game. The event is limited to eighteen (18) teams.
The primary purpose of this event is to provide college and university teams (without respect to geographic location) the opportunity to build the most innovative robots possible and work together to obtain the most points possible. Teams are their own alliances, in that they build two robots that compete as the college team in each match.
This event will permit college and university teams that are registered to participate in the World Championship competitions an opportunity to test their robot designs, game strategies and driving skills against the best their competitors have to offer. This event provides interested teams an opportunity to gain valuable experience, prior to the World Championship event in Florida on April 14-16, 2011. It provides others a great opportunity to compete, make new friends, and have a lot of fun--whether or not they plan to participate in the World event.
To ensure that this event is fully subscribed up to nine (9) high school teams will be allowed to register for this event and test their own designs, strategies and driving skills against those of the college and university teams.
HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS SHOULD UNDERSTAND THAT COLLEGE VEX ROUND UP GAME RULES APPLY.
